”No Greater Love”

“ No one takes it (My Life) from me but I lay it down of my own accord. (John 10:18, RSC-VE)

These details are from Church approved private revelations. This vision of Jesus’ scourging was given to Blessed (Sister) Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824).

“Jesus trembled and shuddered as He stood before the pillar, and took off His garments as quickly as He could, but His hands were bloody and swollen. The only return He made when His brutal executioners struck and abused Him was to pray for them in the most touching manner:

He turned His face once toward His Mother, who was standing overcome with grief; this look quite unnerved her: she fainted, and would have fallen, had not the holy women who were there supported her.

Jesus put His arms around the pillar, and when His hands were thus raised, the archers fastened them to the iron ring which was at the top of the pillar; they then dragged His arms to such a height that His feet, which were tightly bound to the base of the pillar, scarcely touched the ground.

Thus was the Holy of Holies violently stretched, without a particle of clothing, on a pillar used for the punishment of criminals; and then did two furious ruffians who were thirsting for His blood begin in the most barbarous manner to scourge His sacred body from head to foot.”

“And when they came to the place which is called The Skull, there they crucified him and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.  And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

(Luke 23:32-34, RSV-CE)

I offer one final question and thought for reflection; “What does True Love get?”

Nothing. True love gets nothing; it gives “EVERYTHING.”

This Rosary bracelet is meant to be an outward expression of the awe which I carry in my heart for my Jesus and His Love for me.  A knowledge that I am infinitely and immeasurably Loved by Him, my Papa (God the Father) and the Holy Spirit; God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

It was reverently created using Dalmatian, Jasper, semiprecious gemstones for the Ave Maria (Hail Mary) beads and accented with miniature glass Pearl beads.  The spots on the gemstones are representative of and draw me to reflect; with a humble and contrite heart, the wounds which I have caused to my Jesus.

However, even more important than the almost countless number of spots on the Ave Maria beads; are the heart shaped, Hematite gemstones used for the Pater Noster (Our Father) beads.

The hearts, a constant reminder to me, and I pray, for you also; that regardless of the number of spots/wounds which we may have placed upon Jesus during His scourging because of our sins; God’s Love for us is infinitely larger and infinitely greater than any or all of our sins combined together.  He “STILL” Loves us unconditionally and He will never give up on anyone!

The two-sided, silver, Holy Face of Jesus centerpiece has an image of Lord Jesus’ Face from the Shroud of Turin on the front with the Latin words “Illumina Domine Vultum Tuum Super Nos” (May the light of Thy Face, O Lord, shine upon us) stamped around the edge.  On the back is the Christogram (IHS), a monogram symbolizing Jesus Christ. From Greek it is an abbreviation of the name ΙΗΣΟΥΣ (Jesus) and the words “Mane Nobiscum Domine” (Stay with us, O Lord) stamped around the edge.  These words being the insistent invitation of the two disciples spoken to the (Resurrected) Jesus; after reaching Emmaus.  “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.”  (Luke 24:29, RSV-CE)

The Rosary has a Silver, “Grape” Crucifix, which, I pray; will lead the prayer and each of us to remember the “True Presence of Our Lord’s Blood, poured out for many” which is Celebrated without ceasing, in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass each day.  This Crucifix was “intentionally” chosen to remind us of our “Commissioning” by Jesus, “you go into the vineyard too”  (Matthew 20:3-7, RSV-CE).

The Rosary bracelet is completed by the use of a larger, T-bar clasp.

This is a large bracelet.  As shown it is approximately 9 1/2” long; but can be created in sizes ranging from 7” (+) by utilizing a chain extender.  The bracelet is available with either a magnetic, T-bar or Lobster clasp.  See the “Create My Rosary” page for available options.
